If you are interested in aromatherapy training, you should know that you can learn a great deal about aromatherapy online. There is no shortage of distance learning courses that teach the subject of aromatherapy. One of the most renowned is Clayton College of Natural Health. Then there are other programs that are used more for the purpose of using aromatherapy at home or on oneself. In order to treat others with aromatherapy you would need the proper degree from an accredited facility.

If you just want to learn about aromatherapy in a course like format, there are inexpensive programs on the Internet that are go-at-your-own-pace. They present the material via Internet in installments and your progress is graded as you go. By the time you are finished with the course, you should know at least the fundamentals of using essential oils for the purpose of aromatherapy. Many massage therapists who are going to massage school choose to get a degree in aromatherapy as well so they can incorporate it into their massages. Of course completing these is not going to allow you to practice as an aromatherapist but you can learn enough to experiment a bit at home. These courses also teach about the different methods of oil extraction and what the various properties of different oils are. More comprehensive classes get into oil blending and actual aromatherapy, that is using certain oils for certain purposes.

The first thing you want to do if you want to learn aromatherapy online is decide on a distance learning school. There are various factors to consider, such as your goals and your budget. Always investigate before enrolling in any program to make sure it is not a scam. While there are a wide variety of wonderful online courses there are always scam artists waiting for unsuspecting prey. Once you choose a school and complete the admissions process, you are well on your way to learning about aromatherapy. If you have no interest in school but are interested in this subject, there are a plethora of websites about aromatherapy and also many books.
